Safari 4 Days — Tsavo West, Amboseli & Tsavo East

Itinerary

1. 1
   Day 1Tsavo West & the Rhino Sanctuary

   Early-morning departure, arriving in Tsavo West around 09:00–10:00. This is where the legend of the man-eating lions was born — the story behind the film “The Ghost and the Darkness”. Tsavo West offers riverine forests, mountains, lakes, vast plains and centuries-old baobabs, with water holes that attract wildlife even in the dry season.

   Lunch and rest at the lodge around 12:30 (bring a photocopy of your passport). In the afternoon, a photo safari at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary (open 16:00–18:00), a protected area at the foot of the Ngulia Hills where black rhinos are helped to rebuild their numbers. Dinner and overnight — the lucky ones may see a leopard feeding in the trees.

   Day 2Mzima Springs to Amboseli

   Breakfast at 06:30 and a game drive to Mzima Springs, where over 190 million litres of crystal-clear water a day filter through the volcanic rock of the Chyulu Hills. Watch hippos and crocodiles in the transparent pools.

   We continue to Amboseli, arriving around 10:30 for a game drive among giraffes, gazelles, buffaloes, elephants, wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, baboons and hyenas. Lunch at our camp on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, then an afternoon drive to Lake Amboseli until sunset. Dinner at Kibo Camp and a Maasai welcome show.

3. 3
   Day 3Tsavo East

   Morning game drive as we leave Amboseli and follow the Nairobi–Mombasa road to Tsavo East. Game drive on arrival — lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks, waterbucks, cheetahs, leopards and hippos.

   Lunch at 13:00 at the lodge or tented camp and relax by the pool watching the waterhole. Afternoon game drive from 15:30 until sunset, dinner from 19:00 and overnight.

4. 4
   Day 4Last game drive & return to the coast

   Wake up at 06:00, breakfast and a final game drive. Around 10:30 we leave the park, stop for refreshments and return to your village or home.
