Safari 3 Days — Tsavo East & Amboseli

Itinerary

1. 1
   Day 1Tsavo East National Park

   Departure at around 06:00 along a 100 km red-earth track through forests and villages, arriving at Sala Gate around 09:30. First stop at the Galana River to see crocodiles, then our game drive: lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks, waterbucks, cheetahs, leopards, hippos and more.

   At 13:00 we reach the lodge or camp for check-in (bring a photocopy of your passport), lunch and rest by the pool overlooking the waterhole. Afternoon game drive from 15:30 until sunset, dinner from 19:00 and overnight.

   Day 2Amboseli & Kilimanjaro

   Wake up at 06:00, breakfast at 06:30 and departure for Amboseli at 07:00 along the Mombasa–Nairobi road, with a short stop for cold drinks. We enter through Rimeto Gate around 10:00 for a game drive among lions, gazelles, giraffes, huge elephant herds, buffaloes, zebras and hyenas.

   Arrival at our camp on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro — Africa’s highest peak, whose summits Kibo and Mawenzi are snow-capped — around 12:30 for check-in, lunch and rest. At 15:30 we head towards Lake Amboseli to see hippos and other animals until sunset. Dinner at Kibo Camp followed by a Maasai welcome show.

3. 3
   Day 3Maasai village & return

   Breakfast at 06:30 and departure at 07:00. Optional visit to a nearby Maasai village to watch traditional dances, see the manyattas and buy souvenirs.

   We leave the park towards the town of Voi for lunch and a short rest, then return to the coast through the landscapes where “Out of Africa” was filmed, arriving at around 15:00–16:30.
