Safari 2 Days — Tsavo East

Itinerary

   Day 1Into Tsavo East via Sala Gate

   Early-morning departure from your village or home. We follow a red-earth track of about 100 km through forests and villages of indescribable charm, reaching Sala Gate around 09:30.

   First stop at the Galana River to watch the crocodiles, then the game drive begins: lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks, antelopes, waterbucks, cheetahs, leopards, hippos and other savannah animals.

   Around 13:00 we arrive at the lodge or camp for check-in (please bring your passport), lunch and rest — relax by the pool and watch animals drinking at the nearby waterhole. In the afternoon we head out again, visiting the spectacular Lugard Falls if the game drive allows, where the Galana disappears among coloured, polished rocks. Safari until sunset, then dinner and overnight.

   Day 2Maasai village & final game drive

   Wake up at 06:30, breakfast and departure at 07:00. If you wish, visit a Maasai village to watch traditional dances, see their homes (manyatta) and buy souvenirs.

   Then the third game drive until around 10:30–11:00 (the park ticket is valid for 24 hours) before leaving the park and returning to Watamu or Malindi.
