A safari is one of the most exciting trips you can take — and packing right makes it even better. Here is what we recommend to our guests.
Clothing
- Light, neutral-coloured clothes (khaki, beige, olive)
- A warm layer or fleece for early-morning game drives
- A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses
- Comfortable closed shoes
- Swimwear — many lodges have a pool overlooking a waterhole
Essentials
- A photocopy of your passport for lodge check-in
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Binoculars
- Camera, spare batteries and memory cards
- Any personal medication
Good to know
Soft bags are easier to fit in the safari jeep than hard suitcases. If you are staying on the coast, you can leave most of your luggage at your hotel and travel light.
